Regrets are the natural property of gray hair.

All the problems of the world could be settled easily if men were only willing to think. The trouble is that men very often resort to all sorts of devices in order not to think, because thinking is such hard work. 

Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliban, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honour for me.

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.

An economically peaceful and prosperous Sri Lanka is the dream of youth of the nation. My message for the youth is to collectively work for an inclusive developed Sri Lanka.

Just because crime is not established in the court of law doesn’t mean a murderer is innocent.

Speculation is only a word covering the making of money out of the manipulation of prices, instead of supplying goods and services. 

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.

Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.

And no, we don't know where it will lead. You just know there's something much bigger than any of us here.

I have always had this view about the modern education system: we pay attention to brain development, but the development of warmheartedness we take for granted.
