I was always fascinated by engineering. Maybe it was an attempt maybe to get my father's respect or interest, or maybe it was just a genetic love of technology, but I was always trying to build things.

The last moment is past; this moment is present; and, the next moment will be future. The past, present, and future change with every tick of the clock.

There is no substitute for merit.

When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.

I never had any desire to defend myself, and never did I seriously think about it.

The chief condition on which, life, health and vigor depend on, is action. It is by action that an organism develops its faculties, increases its energy, and attains the fulfillment of its destiny.

Fellow citizens, we cannot escape history. We, of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass will light us down in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation.

Our intuition represents our Early Warning System.

We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don't want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential.

The moment there is suspicion about a person's motives, everything he does become tainted.

Wealth, like happiness, is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a by-product of providing a useful service.  

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
